"Making a film is like steering a ship."

Whether its photos, videos, or a finger painting with my niece...

it's a story that is changing and dynamic. I am unable to predict the end result. I believe that is because telling a story is not like driving a car. I like to think of it more like steering a ship. When the helm is in your hands, you can not turn the rudder to the middle to go straight. The ship never goes straight. It is constantly going a few degrees port, then a few degrees starboard. To go in the direction you want, you have to keep a dead eye on your bearing and keep adjusting your position a few degrees port, then counter that with a few degrees starboard. Like a story, you have to keep your eye on the armature, and keep adjusting everything else to tell that story.
